Soprano's Actress, Amanda Hayes Fed Her Hubbys Ex to the Alligators

She was already convicted in the murder of her husband's ex-girlfriend when authorities also convicted Amanda Hayes, of Fort Bend County, North Carolina, of feeding the woman's body to alligators after trying to dissolve it in acid.

Amanda Hayes is an actress who has appeared on The Sopranos HBO series as well as the Nicole Kidman movie The Stepford Wives.

Authorities found the torso and leg of Laura Ackerson in the Oyster Creek in Richmond on July 24, 2011. Dive teams found more of Ackerson's remains later. Ms. Ackerson was murdered by Grant and Amanda Hayes in the couple's Raleigh, North Carolina apartment in 2011, according to the DA's office.

The last anyone had heard, she was headed to Grant and Amanda's house to pick up the two small boys that she shared with Grant and discuss child support. The couple murdered Ackerson, dismembered her body with a power saw, and packed it into coolers. They drove to Richmond, to the home of Amanda Hayes' sister.

"Once in Richmond, the couple first attempted to use muriatic acid to destroy Ackerson's body," the press release states. "When that didn't work, they took a boat onto Oyster Creek and dumped Laura's body parts into the water with hopes that alligators would eat her remains."

Amanda Hayes had already been convicted of second-degree murder in N.C. and sentenced to 13-16 years in prison. Grant Hayes was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.

Amanda Hayes testified in the trial that she did not kill Ackerson. She claimed that her husband threatened to cut her throat if she did not help him dispose of the body.

A jury convicted her of tampering with evidence to impair its availability in an investigation, a second-degree felony. Judge Maggie Jaramillo sentenced her to 20 years in prison, consecutive to the North Carolina sentence.

"The jury verdict was swift and the Court's sentence was appropriately harsh," said lead prosecutor Amanda Bolin. "Laura Ackerson's family can be assured that Amanda Hayes will be punished for all of her barbaric behavior – whether it was in North Carolina or the great state of Texas."

Brenda Andrew is the only woman on Oklahoma death row. She is there for the murder of her husband by her and her boyfriend James Pavatt. Brenda does not answer letters. It seems she may still have a bit of that pretentious attitude left over from her days as a respected deacons wife. Those days are over, hun. There is no scheduled execution date for Brenda yet.
