I don't know if I would say that my life has calmed down or become more chaotic.
We finally moved from the suite of hell. We found a 3 bedroom just right down the road from where I was living before. It was damaged and so it took about a week to repair walls and floors and clean up mountainous piles of rat shit. We still have a little wall paper to hang but otherwise we're pretty well set up.
I was chomping at the bit to get back to work and so of course the phone company had issues setting up my lines. With no internet I was forced to think. I got a magazine from www.thewc.com and an article in it gave me the idea to organize a job fair for moms to work at home. So I bounced it off of my fabulous fellow mods at Clubmom and decided to give it a shot. I have been busily contacting Avon ladies, tupperware ladies, Arbonne, Home interior, and whatever else I can think of. It's coming together nicely. I have garnered a really fabulous venue and spots are filling up quick. I'm hoping that moms in my area will be able to find a way to work at home with their children.
I'm really warming up to my new column. Its getting fun. My favorite so far will be the one that will run this week. It's about books and how to find them cheap or free.
It's in the daily living section of www.thesaturdayindependent.com
I'm still doing crime and features so things are going well there, so far. I have to do a story this week on the National Walking Horse Celebration getting cancelled.
I did another round of content writing. 25 articles on educational articles. If you want to call t hem that. Stuff like - Is Greek Life Right For You? and How Not To Get Caught Up In The Drinking Lifestyle and of course How To Decorate A Dorm Room. I had to do them in three days and so I was really humping.
I'm also in the process of writing a Freelance Writing Ebook for Bizymoms. For which I am Host of the Month! Thank you, autographs after the show.
Much has happened on the Women of Death Row front. So much that I will wait until tomorrow to explain it all, it's a doosy so tune in.
I want to end this post by telling everyone how proud I am of my friend Nikki. She is a aspiring writer who is definitely on her way.She got her first paying assignment this week. Way to go Nikki!

Yeah Nikki! (just a tad late!)
ReplyDeleteI would love to work at home, but I'm too scared to try. Wish I had your courage and strength!
Glad things are looking up!
Kelly!
ReplyDeleteI just now got internet and everything reloaded so this is the first I have been to your blog (or mine for that matter). Thanks for the Kudos!! I need them this week. I am going to stop into our Mod board and fill you all in on things. Now I can read your column online ~ I was hoping I would be able too!! You are a huge inspiration to me! I am still trying to figure out how you do it all!!
